We are excited to share that thanks to the generosity and partnership of the Suquamish Tribe, and after weeks of careful planning and collaboration, all North Kitsap School District teachers and staff will be able to receive COVID-19 vaccines beginning Wednesday, March 10. The Tribe will vaccinate staff at the drive-thru clinic at Clearwater Resort.

We anticipate that approximately 600 of our staff will participate in this event over the next three weeks. We know that some of our staff have already been vaccinated, some already have a plan in place, and some may not elect to - or be unable to - receive the vaccine. We are pleased to be able to provide this opportunity for all staff who wish to participate.

NKSD staff received vaccine information earlier today and will be able to sign up for both their first and second dose at the same time.

“I want to express my deepest thanks to the Suquamish Tribe,” Superintendent Evans shared. “I am grateful to the tribe for providing this opportunity for NKSD employees and appreciate their ongoing partnership with NKSD to support our students, our staff, and our greater school community.”

The Suquamish Tribe shared in a news release earlier today that vaccinating the teachers and staff of the North Kitsap School District is “the most ambitious expansion of the Suquamish Tribe’s vaccination program to date.”

We are also partnering with the Port Gamble S'Klallam Tribe to finalize additional vaccine ability for school personnel. We will share more information once these plans are finalized.

We are incredibly grateful for the partnerships and care we have with both of our local tribes.
