Welcome to PAL 2016-2017!

We are excited to get started with the new school year and begin implementing the exciting changes to our program. Below is a brief summary of the major changes to PAL.

PAL has adopted a Blended Learning Model. Blended Learning features digital curriculum while keeping the face-to-face interaction with our mentor teachers. Parents still remain “first instructors”, however, the delivery of the curriculum will now be digitally delivered. This allows for students to access their coursework anywhere there is an internet connection. Each class has a highly qualified teacher certified in the content area giving students an additional layer of support. In addition, we will still have our own mentor teachers on site that will continue to meet with students on a weekly basis as well as offer Learning Labs weekly for students to access. We have contracted with FuelEd to deliver guaranteed and viable curriculum that is aligned with Washington State Standards and North Kitsap School District.

Elementary (K-5) students will take up to five classes: English Language Arts, Social Science, Science, Math, and one elective (Music or Art). Secondary (6-12) students will take up to six classes: English Language Arts, Social Science, Science, Math, and two electives. Students will be given a list of electives from which they can choose.

While not all classes listed in the catalog will be offered this year, the majority of them will be offered. Check with administration if you have questions.
