Washington State Finance Challenge


Eight Kingston High School students placed in the Washington State Financial Literacy Challenge held last week.  The challenge is an online 30-minute rapid-fire exam on earning income and protecting and insuring, using credit and buying goods and services, saving and financial investing, and budgeting.

Congratulations to the following:

Izumi Nance and Sorana Nance tied for First Place

Lena Musselman and Amelia Summers tied with 3 other students for Third Place

Jordan Cook, Adriana Mendoza-Ackerly, Sam Tippie and Jacob Fundak received Honorable Mention


Kingston High School students had the highest average student score in the state, and received four of the top eight awards.

The Finance Challenge is sponsored each year by the Washington Council for Financial and Economic Education.  Funding is provided by the Washington State Department of Financial Institutions.  First and third place winners receive cash prizes.
