Fall 2016 (retake)

11 & 12 English Language Arts

Available to students in the class of 2018 or earlier who have not yet passed the ELA assessment and/or met the ELA assessment graduation requirement.

ONLINE: October 24 – November 18
PAPER/PENCIL: October 31 – November 18
(Paper testing for the fall administration is to support large print, braille, and standard print forms for students whose IEP states paper)

Available to students who tested on ELA assessment in 2016 and would like to attempt a higher score.

11 & 12 Mathematics

Available to students in the class of 2018 or earlier who have not yet passed the high school math assessment and/or met the math assessment graduation requirement.

Available to students who tested on math assessment in 2016 and would like to attempt a higher score.

Spring 2017

English Language Arts and Mathematics

Required for federal and state accountability

ONLINE: March 6 – June 9
(must be administered within the last 12 weeks of the school year, but no later than June 9)
PAPER/PENCIL: March 6 – May 19
(must be administered within the last 12 weeks of the school year, but no later than May 19)

For example, if the last day of school is June 9, the testing window will be March 20 – May 19

10 English Language Arts

Required for graduation for classes of 2017 and beyond

ONLINE: March 6 ‒ June 9
(must be administered within the last 12 weeks of the school year, but no later than June 9)
PAPER/PENCIL: May 5 ‒ May 26
(must be administered within the last 3 weeks of the school year, but no later than May 26)

For example, if the last day of school is May 30, the testing window will be May 9 – May 26

If your district's school year extends into June, the grade 10 paper/pencil testing must still conclude by May 26

10 Mathematics

Required for graduation only for the classes of 2019 and beyond

Available only to students in 10th grade who are completing or have already completed an Algebra II, Integrated Math III, or an equivalent course.

Without having received this level of math instruction, the student will be at a considerable disadvantage when taking the assessment.

A 10th grade student who takes the test and earns the graduation cut score, but not a level 3 or 4, will need to retake the test in their 11th grade year for federal accountability.

11 & 12

English Language Arts and Mathematics

Required for federal and state accountability for all students in grade 11. Also required for graduation for the classes of 2017 and beyond for ELA, and for the classes of 2019 and beyond for Math.

A student in grade 11 who earned a level 3 or level 4 ELA or Math score in grade 10 is not required to test.
(Previous score will be carried forward for accountability)

Available to students who previously tested on the ELA and/or mathematics assessment and would like to attempt a higher score.

ONLINE: March 6 – June 9
(must be administered within the last 12 weeks of the school year, but no later than June 9)

For example, if the last day of school is June 6, the testing window will be March 13 – June 5

PAPER/PENCIL: May 5 ‒ May 26
(must be administered within the last 3 weeks of the school year)
