Student Technology Help

Logging into an NKSD Chromebook

Student passwords will update for the 2023-2024 school year beginning Friday, August 18, 2023.

Student Log In

  • Username: 09xxxxx@nkschools.org
  • Password: first initial + last initial + .nk + school year + 3 letter birth month
  • Birth month codes would be Jan for January, Feb for February, Mar for March, etc.

Example student login

Johnny Digital is in the school year 2023-2024, his student ID # is 0912345, and his birth month is October. So his login would be:

  • Username: 0912345@nkschools.org
  • Password: jd.nk2023oct

Susy Smith-Thompson is in the school year 2023-2024, her student ID # is 0987654, and her birth month is May. So her login would be:

  • Username: 0987654@nkschools.org
  • Password: ss.nk2023may

Anne Marie Johnson is in the school year 2023-2024, her student ID # is 0955446, and her birth month is December. So her login would be:

  • Username: 0955446@nkschools.org
  • Password: aj.nk2023dec

Note: The initials are always the first letter of the position, regardless of hyphens or other inclusions. The first name of Anne Marie would be A for a first initial. A last name of smith-thompson would just be s for the last initial.

Restricted Logon Hours

Scaffolded time restrictions are in place to support the overall well-being of students. Research shows that the blue light from electronic screens can reduce or delay the body's production of melatonin, which can hinder a person's ability to fall asleep. Blue light can also shorten the amount of time people stay in rapid-eye movement (REM) and slow wave sleep. These two types of sleep are directly linked to cognitive functioning during the day. While we are very excited to be able to provide these resources to students, we also take the responsibility that comes with these tools very seriously

  • Elementary students’ access is restricted from 9:00 pm-6:00 am.
  • Middle school students’ account access is restricted from 11:00 pm-6:00 am.
  • High school students do not have time restrictions.

Student Technology Service Request (TSR)

If you continue to have technical issues with your device after attempting the troubleshooting steps above, you may submit a Student Tech Help Request.

The Student Tech Help form (available below) is the preferred method for requesting assistance. You may also call the Tech Support Help Line at (360) 396-3953 from 8:00 to 3:30 on school days.

Due to the high volume of calls, we highly recommend submitting the tech help request using the form below. Please do not use the helpline to follow up on submitted tech requests; we promise to get back to you as soon as possible.

WHEN SUBMITTING A TSR: If you are having trouble logging in with your account, PLEASE include whether the password is not working, the account is not found, you are being asked for an old password, or any other error message you may receive. The more information we have, the quicker the issue can be resolved.

Note: Turnaround time on tech help requests may be greater than one business day due to the high volume of requests. Thank you for being so patient!
